Shindisi

The film’s story is based on real events that took place during the Russian military intervention in Georgia in 2008. Shindisi is the name of a village near Tbilisi. It is the place where Russian occupation forces besieged the Georgian military after a peace corridor was promised. In Shindisi the Russian forces violate the humanitarian corridor thanks to which the wounded can be helped and those killed can be buried with due respect. The Russians do not follow the rules and deceitfully open fire. The villagers take risks to rescue wounded Georgian soldiers. A story about a man who was unaware of his inner strength and who became a hero in the fullest sense of the word. (Warsaw Film Festival)
