Classically tough Takashi Miike, who in this case is even darker and dirtier. You can see that he was still searching for his form and hyper-stylization, but he was already on the right track. Above all, he was supposed to shoot a tough crime thriller, which he ultimately succeeded in, and more than well. Some scenes will really shake you.
