Babe is a proper pig, a charismatic pig. You don’t see that very often. It’s a pity that otherwise this is your typical cute movie from Disney, but live action.

Pakula should kiss Streep's feet, as she is the only, but proper, asset of this otherwise slavish and too unimaginative adaptation.

Bruce strengthens his cult status again. In a completely unprecedented way. This time he isn’t satisfied by his charisma alone, but he also uses his acting skills. A duel between a prostatic (non)Elvis and a Pharaoh mummy set in an old folks’ home? Why ever not? Hundreds of cool lines, Bruce, black JFK, Bruce, truth about the King of Rock’n’Roll and … and of course mainly and above all THE Bruce Campbell.

As a serious part of the Alien universe, it's unworthy, but as entertaining (despite its undisguised dullness) action sci-fi, it's not quite so damnable.

The comedy part beats the horror part on the head, but overall this road movie about a family bonding is a very enjoyable affair; just "horror Griswold" at its best.

It was dumb, but, unlike it’s spin-off Xena, I never liked it. There’s no insight, Kevin Sorbo has no charisma, and there’s no Gabrielle. Instead, we have a sort of metrosexual Michael Hurst. And the scripts were very stupid. And above all, there’s no cool war cry.

While Mel lets his charisma and undeniable great comedic talent work to the fullest, there’s no one who can second him. And that includes the screenwriters and the director.

Axel's second outing stays true to the Hollywood strategy that a proper sequel must have more of everything. It's a shame that it's true to that strategy even in the significant loss of fun.

Arnie claims his place under the sun. Too bad that he does it in a film that could have ended its career right at the beginning. And no one would be surprised.
