There is nothing exceptional about this conversational low-key melodrama. However, what will pull you in is the incredibly original screenplay, the openness of both characters, and the great impression of authentic life hidden in it. The chemistry between Emma Thompson and Daryl McCormack is excellent and a pleasure to watch. The characters develop and even though it is a very intimate movie, it has momentum and flows briskly. Jokes, tears, and intimacy are perfectly enhanced by a soundtrack that lifts the film by several levels.

The humor in Official Competition is absolutely brilliant. I enjoyed watching almost every scene. The magic of the movie is in its simplicity and precision. Tightly imagined characters with excellent chemistry, a well-flowing plot, chilling and funny moments, Penélope Cruz and her vicious hair, and excellent cinematography.

Robert Eggers' signature style is again evident, and thanks to his direction we do not get a mainstream film, despite the trailer. It is a very original achievement that is not afraid to experiment, sometimes going slightly over the edge, and sometimes letting style and quality show through. In the beginning, it took me a while to get used to a lot of mythology and a certain mystique, but by the end of the film, I enjoyed it. The treatment and acting performances are well done, and the only thing that lags is the plot. As the creators had a field day with the visuals, the story and script slipped into mediocrity. The plot is predictable and simple, with nothing shocking except a great deal of brutality. The film is somewhat diminished by this, but not enough to deserve a low score.

Jiří Havelka proves once again that he is a master of low-key comedy. Quite honestly, I can say that I enjoyed it, along with everyone else in the movie theater. I would never have thought that a real 14-minute event could be embellished into such an entertaining work which is full of references and Czech folklore — and I feel sorry for those who did not notice them. The acting is excellent, especially M. Ludvíková and T. Marečková, whose characters I enjoyed. Immensely. The music and the camerawork were absolutely brilliant. The political storyline was again a pleasant and witty addition with a number of allusions.

I guess we "all" got a slightly different film than the trailer had us expecting. The whole movie depends primarily on K. Stewart, who is convincing in the role of Diana and manages to draw the viewer to the very fragile and sensitive boundary of the personality that is being portrayed here. However, I could say that apart from the main character, who basically saves the whole movie, the rest is not worth much attention. The costumes and setting are excellent, but the plot itself not so much. It's mainly about looking inwardly into Diana's soul, and the suffering and pain she felt due to the Royal Family and all its rules.

House of Gucci is a quite successful and eye-pleasing movie. First and foremost, we are treated to wonderful performances by Lady Gaga and Adam Driver. We listen to perfectly chosen music and a punchy soundtrack that bring the scenes to life. We get to enjoy novel fashion items and countless intrigues and manipulations. I enjoyed the movie very much and, despite the long running time, it did not stagnate anywhere and flowed along briskly. The only things that disappointed me a little were the rushed ending and the trial, which at least deserved some attention.

No everybody will be over the moon about this movie, but it’s certainly worth a watch. This is a masterfully made work. The music, camera, acting performances and, mainly, the sixties feeling works really well and is highly entertaining. And Taylor-Joy is utterly wonderful - I’m even tempted to call her "mystical"; her acting style perfectly suits the era. But in places the movie is disappointing in terms of story. For my taste there was a bit too much hocus pocus and I didn’t like the sickly sweet happy ending, but otherwise it has a nicely psycho atmosphere to it.

A well-made drama with a pretty original central duo and story. I enjoyed the cold environment, the simple screenplay and wonderfully built atmosphere. However, what kills this movie is the two-hour running time, which makes the style it’s filmed in rather monotonous and at some points it seems that nothing’s happening. It’s certainly worth a watch, but you probably won’t ever come back to it to watch it again.

This movie is not just easy to watch, but the lightness, sensitivity and calm that it’s filmed with is really impressive. Not to mention the wonderfully chosen soundtrack and great acting performances. I enjoyed the way it jumps about between several storylines and it certainly maintained the pace. The ending that proves that coincidences don’t exist is rather silly, but otherwise it doesn’t spoil the overall impression from the movie which is very good.

I sincerely don’t know who the target audience was meant to be. The search for treasure and the humor are more suited to a kids’ movie. While Cleo’s fate is rather dramatic and more on the adult side. The depiction of the "heroes" of times past is more like something out of a fairytale. The final denouement contains a lesson to be learned, but the needlessly dragged out running time guarantees a thoroughly uninspiring experience. This movie is a feelgood comedy that allows you to turn off your thought processes. There’s nothing else to it.
