An incredible treat. Another tribute to the craft of filmmaking. While Spielberg took a rather sensible approach in The Fabelmans, Chazelle went for a drug-induced adrenaline rush. Sure, the three-hour running time is unnecessarily excessive, but the movie just races by anyway. Aside from Babylon being a fun and crazy ride with some wtf scenes, it has plenty of moments that will be a feast for a movie fan's heart, especially the very end. Not to mention the soundtrack! Hurwitz is a god.

Those who love filmmaking will love The Fabelmans. Spielberg is still in superb form, and it's hardly a surprise that if anyone should tell his life story, it can only be him. A beautiful, sensitive, witty, and moving film that is undoubtedly one of the best of the year. When Spielberg retires, anyone watching this film (remembering all his blockbusters) will be able to tell that it was all worth it.

A relaxing series that could be criticized for a lot of things, but it's really pointless to dwell on the particular pros (humor, originality, cinematography) or cons (formulaic, inferior special effects). Everything is overshadowed by the fantastic Jenna Ortega who is perfect as Wednesday and carries the whole series, literally never leaving the screen. A blend of classic teen shows and Burton's visuals, all wrapped up in a Harry Potter-like atmosphere in a Netflix 2022 version. A show of the year. S01: 8/10.

I consider myself one of the few who don't admire this work from a film perspective (of course, Zimmer's music and Brühl's performance are spectacular), but I feel compelled to give it the highest rating simply because I love the world of F1 and the movie made me remember two legends of this motorsport and revisit a time when courage and passion for this sport meant much more and the differences between the racers were minimal, unlike today when Vettel drives an absolutely perfect car and the world title is already decided by mid-season. Nevertheless, from a purely film perspective and judging by my emotional reaction to the movie, Senna was considerably better.

I can’t even keep track of the number of times I was recommended this video, but I know exactly for how many seconds I was having fun - zero point zero.

Next time I need a heavy dose of the bizarre, I will just watch election campaign videos of various political parties and I might even have a good laugh. This was just 2 hours of the bizarre without the funny part and all 3 main characters were just plain unlikeable and annoying. The quality of the filmmaking and acting performances is undeniable, but I was bored throughout the whole runtime.

Fincher is a genius. Although I consider Citizen Kane to be a truly extraordinary and timeless work, I really did not think of myself as the target audience for a movie about 1930s Hollywood, I thought the whole thing would just go right over my head. Instead, I was served a movie which was simply amazing, I could not find any fault with it. In terms of directing, it goes beyond anything made in the last couple of years. I'm no film snob or an art film lover, quite the contrary, I'm into mainstream movies, but Mank, just like the recent Roma, is an absolute treat.

Disney can add another notch to its belt.  The end of Episode III was probably the biggest story treasure that Lucas left behind. There was huge potential, but the suits at Disney, who still have no idea what to do with the Star Wars brand, completely buried it. A tired-ass, boring story. The storytelling is just as pathetic as the technical aspect (at times resembling some insanely low-cost amateur film). There’s zero suspense, heaven forbid a hint of fate. I’m not exaggerating. Nothing about it works, except for the flashbacks to the previous trilogy. Congratulations Disney, keep it up.

The prototype of a perfect summer blockbuster. A cinematic blast that is two levels above the rest of the Hollywood production. An awesome mix of action, suspense, fun, nostalgia, and emotion. It’s probably the best of Tom Cruise's extensive movie career. Whatever rave reviews you will read about the new Top Gun, they're very likely to be true.

Michael Bay has finally made his version of Phone Booth, and it's just as dumb as you'd expect. Melodramatic as hell, with great lines referencing Bay's earlier films, incredibly frantic pacing, and cuts so frequent that if an epileptic went to see it, they'd be carried out of the theatre within five minutes. I like Bay's films (including the most hated ones). I even like dumb films, as long as they have a reasonable running time. Unfortunately, a 136(!)-minute-long film with such a dumb screenplay is simply too much, even if you fully switch off your brain and try to ignore all the nonsense. Ultimately, it’s just empty and even boring in spite of the insane pace.
