Críticas (1 995)

cartaz

Andrei Rublev (1966)

inglês A breathtaking cinematic poem. Raw, stark, timeless. In some ways, its cinematic language reminds me of Vláčil's Markéta Lazarova. A classic of world cinema.

Stalker (1979)

inglês I enjoy Stalker as a kind of hypnotic piece that you can feel intensely. But I prefer not to think too much about it.

cartaz

Gorilas na Bruma (1988)

inglês A film about Diana Fossey, a zoologist and expert on the lives of the gorillas she spent her life studying. I wonder how Sigourney Weaver felt when she had to film with real gorillas. Yeah, actors don’t have it easy.

Os Bad Boys (1995)

inglês While The Rock was a massive adrenaline ride, here it's more like massive blabbering. If only it was funny, but the dialogue is not very good and Martin Lawrence is more suited to his toilet comedies.

Ondas de Paixão (1996)

inglês Lars von Trier pushes the envelope again, but unlike Dancer in the Dark, there is a reason for it and it is not an end in itself. Breaking the Waves is a whirlwind of emotions that often sends chills down the spine. And Emily Watson’s performance is perfection itself.

Os Olhos da Serpente (1998)

inglês The opening is amazing, a 20-minute camera ride following Cage as he greets his buddies on the way into the auditorium, knocks down a thug, gets off the phone and watches the opening of a boxing match. All without a single cut! It is true that after that the film drops in quality and the ending is full of clichés, but De Palma is simply cool and that has to be appreciated.

60 Segundos (2000)

inglês Maybe car fans will find something to like about this film, but I still don't believe they won’t get bored. It’s so bland! It isn’t fun, nor is it stupid enough to at least make you laugh. Just boring, despite the presence of the Cage-Jolie duo.

cartaz

Assalto Infernal (1993)

inglês The nerve-wracking opening scene makes you feel so nervous that you are blissfully anxious about what's coming next. Though you won’t see anything as exciting for the rest of the film, it still has to be said that this is a highly above-average action flick, even though the ravages of time have gnawed away at some of the scenes (some of the sets and visual effects are quite dodgy). Stallone's temporary comeback after a string of abysmal comedies was a success. PS: Experienced mountaineers will probably miss the genre classification "comedy" :)

cartaz

História de Um Fotógrafo (1966)

inglês I also don't know what this film is actually about, but its mood always gets me, and I always get a reliable chill when the details of that pivotal photograph are revealed. A crime drama? A portrait of the 1960s? It doesn’t matter, what’s important is that it’s beautiful to look at.

O Corvo (1994)

inglês I like films with a dark atmosphere. The Crow has plenty of it and it is as seductively dark and gloomy as the comic book itself. Brandon is brilliant (what a great loss) and Wincott is a villain as it should be. Together with X-Men the best comic-book adaptation so far.
