Srdce na dlani

A sterile, pointless Czech romantic comedy that only exists because the filmmakers felt sorry about the death of Polívka in the opening of Women on the Run. They thus gave him his own film, but forgot that they should also write something in it for him. And for his colleagues too, of course. (10/09/2022)

Nada contra a intenção de reciclar um modelo testado numa tentativa de criar outro sucesso comercial depois de Women on the Run, uma vez que o resultado seja um produto de qualidade e divertido (o que não é o caso aqui). No entanto, mesmo desta vez, haverá certamente espetadores que ficarão excecionalmente satisfeitos que não se importarão que o filme pareça uma tentativa dos argumentistas preguiçosos duma aposta certa, cujos diálogos transbordam de ingenuidade, humor divertido só aparece esporadicamente, e as suas histórias românticas multi-geracionais são extremamente previsíveis, vagamente banais e emocionalmente pouco animadoras, totalmente raspadas. Há que louvar as atuações agradáveis dos atores e protagonistas animais que se esforçam, e a maior parte dos ofícios de filme (exceto a música repetitiva óbvia) pode ser descrita como sólida em todo o seu percurso, mas de outra forma Heart to Heart apenas aborrece com a sua simplicidade de enredo (quase primitivo) e não contém nada que possa despertar qualquer interesse significativo. I was really curious to see the latest film from the creator of Women on the Run, as Heart to Heart also features a likeable cast and an appealing, albeit not original, premise. Despite the obvious plot cliché, Horský's film is incredibly relaxing and optimistic, and put a genuine smile on my face. I appreciate the funny screenplay that doesn't push the envelope unnecessarily, and I must also praise the sober and believable performances of the actors – especially in the case of Honzik, whose lines really amused me. But the other actors and actresses also won me over. On the other hand, the heavy, easy-going Váleček reminded me of a nice basset hound from my childhood. A weaker four stars! (22/01/2022)

Thanks to a fine cast, two pairs of eloquent dog eyes, non-forced humor and relaxing music, I had a really nice time with this nice romantic comedy. That's also why I almost didn't mind that it was relatively easy to guess where the story was going in the opening minutes of the movie. (70%) (31/12/2022)
