Patrick, a strange and lonely resident, lives in a mobile home at the back of an isolated caravan park. After a violent thunderstorm erupts, a mysterious young woman appears at his door, seeking shelter from the weather. The longer the night wears on and the more the young woman discovers about Patrick, the more difficult she finds it to leave. Soon she begins to question Patrick’s intentions, while Patrick begins to question his own grip on reality. (Umbrella Entertainment)

A psicologia da insegurança é bem captada, quando uma rapariga que entra na caravana de um estranho com condições meteorológicas más não sabe se o dono é perigoso ou não. O diálogo de uma hora em que os dois se examinam e aguardam a reação do outro é pontuado pelo barulho da caravana ao som de trovões, vento e chuva. O tipo é estranho, impenetrável e, acima de tudo, paranoico. O que, depois de certos acontecimentos, conduz a um estado selvagem alucinogénico com uma mistura confusa de cartas factuais na mesa para o espetador. É uma pena. [Sitges FF]

A hilarious Australian psychological slow burner with two characters with one cabin and a violent storm, all with great cinematography, great acting, well-written dialogue, great music and a paranoid mystery atmosphere. I'm the last person to praise this kind of movie without jumpscars and gore, but I have to say that the third act won me over enough that I won't hesitate to give it 4 stars. I really like the themes where a stranger knocks at your door and you don’t know who is the good guy and who is the bad guy all the time, and it's really not transparent here. Even though the first hour is just dialogue in a cabin that makes up for the knocking on the door and a nasty storm, it works and kept my attention. It picks up nicely towards the end and kicks off with a decently intense atmospheric paranoid-hallucinogenic inferno, where the sound designer again does a precise job. An Australian gem that made an impression. 7/10.

Até o último quarto, trata-se de um estudo psicológico minimalista, bastante cativante e inteligentemente dirigido, de dois personagens que o destino uniu numa localização isolada, entre os quais é habilmente construída uma tensão nervosa por um longo tempo. A sólida conceção do escuro e da edição e os sons da tempestade circundante também ajudam. Isso é estragado pela resolução narrativa confusa, que tenta juntar todos os motivos iniciados no último momento, surpreender com novas reviravoltas e possivelmente até chocar um pouco, mas o faz de maneira apressada e caótica.
