After livestock belonging to rancher Walter Colby fall victim to a spider attack, entomologist Diane Ashley (Tiffany Bolling) arrives and tries to help Rack deal with the crisis: but with the big county fair fast approaching, Mayor Connors refuses to let them quarantine the ranch. Soon the remaining residents of the town must barricade themselves at Emma Washburns lodge in an effort to save themselves from the eight-legged invaders in the ultimate man vs. spider showdown. O início é terrivelmente lento. Uma vaca morta, tretas sobre isso. Um cão morto, tretas sobre isso. Um touro morto, mais tretas. Mas quando as pessoas começam a morrer e os nossos heróis ficam presos numa caserna barricada, o filme torna-se bastante intenso. Só é pena que fiquem presos nele durante 15 minutos antes dos créditos finais. Um «filme de terror» de pipocas, no estilo de western, realizado de forma artesanal e adequada, que sofre de um argumento previsível, feito a partir de dezenas de filmes semelhantes (por exemplo, Os Pássaros). Assim que aparece uma nova personagem em cena, já se sabe o que lhe vai acontecer. Mas uma coisa tem de ser dita - há realmente muitas tarântulas realmente vivas no filme - e os atores apanham-nas nas mãos com calma!

It is not that I have anything against tarantulas, or suffer from arachnophobia, however I still got rather unpleasant chills down my spine whilst watching this movie. Respect to the actors who had dozens of spiders put all over them. However, if you are sensitive to this issue, and against hurting these furry arthropods, this movie is not for you - few are trampled or run over by cars in the movie. Otherwise, Kingdom of the Spiders works well for a movie of its genre. If you can get past the somewhat slow pacing and the overly literal anti-DDT message, you are in for a fairly decent experience of a horror movie in the end.
