Birdman

This form is captivating, even though I had to get used to it a lot, but in the end, it didn't quite blow me away enough to make me fall to my knees before the movie. There are great scenes, great shots, and some actors deliver incredible performances for Iñárritu (Keaton, Galifianakis), but even after several hours since watching it, mixed feelings remain. You rarely get to see something so emotionally deep and true, filmed in such a captivating way. Birdman is exactly the type of movie I had been secretly hoping to see - an autopsy of the human soul with all its joys and sorrows, presented in a form that did not turn this into a pseudo-psychological analysis filled with wannabe philosophical questions, but rather an absolutely amazing spectacle with an effort to appeal to both the art film lovers and mainstream audience. A critique of the world of film and theatre as well as the critics and the entire entertainment industry. In a word, excellent. Absolutely brilliant acting performances! Yes, I would love to see this at least one more time. (23/01/2015)
