inglês This is an unconventional and relatively original Italian Giallo movie, which has to be interesting for Czech audiences, at least due to the fact that it is set in Prague during the era of normalization (although, at times, the audiences will wonder what the signs in Serbian are doing there, which were in fact down to the presence of a Yugoslavian crew). The relatively small number of murders, is redeemed by a very interesting cast (I will perhaps just point out that Mario Adorf deserved more screen-time in this movie), Aldo Lado builds up a really mysterious atmosphere with a slow tempo, and leads a rather indistinct plot to a dark finale, after which you will not feel like dancing around. The tone of the movie could be read a bit like an allegory of a totalitarian regime, which Aldo Lado was able familiarize with very well thanks to filming in Czechoslovakia, and Short Night of Glass Dolls thus quite crosses over between the Italian Giallo genre and an almost political thriller. inglês The film has some pretty interesting elements for a giallo. The first is the fact that part of the story takes place in Prague. The second is the fact that the plot revolves around a man who is declared dead, but we know he is not. This gives the film a completely different feel and a new energy. Even so, I couldn't get into the film and it didn't really pull me in. ()
