inglês As a snack made in a couple of days that Flanagan squeezed between bigger and more ambitious projects, it’s ok. But certainly nothing very memorable that should collect almost enthusiastic responses at big festivals – that’s something I really don’t understand. Hush is nothing but a home-invasion slasher flick that bases its existence on a villain without any motivations, who simply enjoys playing cat and mouse with his victims, but who’s also quite incompetent and gives the heroine several opportunities to get rid of him. About the hearing impaired heroine, we don’t get to know a lot, so there aren’t all that many reasons to root for her. It’s just a pretty girl that failed to generate any emotions in me. The sound design is good. The best thing in the film is the positively hyped-up song in the closing credits. ()

inglês Kudos to Flanagan for switching up the horror themes from time to time and not focusing on just one (I hope there's an exploitation flick sometime in the future!). Hush doesn't have much to impress in my eyes. It's a very light home invasion flick in which the blood is scarce, the twist is nonexistent and the bad guy doesn't look creepy enough once the mask comes off. The suspense works in places, but a couple of times I found myself getting bored as well, since nothing major happens. Maybe next time there will be rape and torture :D hehe. 55ˇ% ()

inglês This initially promising script falls further and further into a morass of mediocrity, and one can't help but shake one's head at the actions of the protagonist and the killer; but the direction, even with its reasonable footage, manages to keep the viewer on their toes until the end. No great miracle, no great disaster. ()

inglês You will get what you expect from the horror film Hush i.e., a deaf heroine who has to fight for her life. It's a good topic, and it's not badly handled at all. There is nothing downright unique about it, but the film plays well with the cards it is dealt. It's quite raw, uncomfortable, claustrophobic, and it has atmosphere. What more could you want from a film like this? In the end, I claim satisfaction. ()
