No man, woman or child may defy the gods. When Thor and Loki seek refuge in the home of mortals, the youngest son fails to heed a warning from the gods. As atonement for the family’s sins, the gods take the two youngest children under their wing and embark on an epic adventure from Midgard to Valhalla that will see them stare down ruthless giants, barbaric gods and the dreaded wolf Fenrir. ()
Perhaps an alternative to the Asgardian Triple H (Hopkins, Hemsworth, Hiddleston)? It's as if you swapped overpriced lemon balm tea for half a tablet of Rohypnol. An underfunded "dark" fantasy that might be trying to draw from past millennium models (Scott’s Legend), but misses everything that could have been engaging. I genuinely felt sorry for Thor Møller, who not only failed to follow the Soviet comrades' example but didn’t even revive the goat from the bones. Jörmungandr, to spit out the poison and end the torment, is nowhere to be found. Hopefully, the production at least gave him real mead for that horn. ()
Boring, with ugly production design, it’s hard to find anything worth praise in this expedition into the world of the Norse gods. You'd better go shopping for Christmas presents. ()
