A Viagem de Chihiro (2001)

inglês Hayao Miyazaki is simply an animation genius, but in the sense that he is able to present a great story, great animation, and on top of that, he gives a huge dose of imagination and heart to it. "Spirited Away" was my first encounter with this author several years ago and it still remains a beloved film. What happens before the viewer's eyes, what appears here, is simply a celebration of human imagination in the best sense of the word. The Japanese can portray the beauty of nostalgia like few others.

Someone Marry Barry (2014)

inglês Disgusting stupid comedy that didn't sit well with me because it's just a copy of "The Hangover", from which four heroes were taken. Vulgar, but not funny at all, disgusting and characters that you simply cannot fall in love with. I endured this comedy even through a few moments when I hoped for a good joke. Only a mediocre one came. There were so few of them. Never again.

Pokettomonsuta daiyamondo & Paru diaruga VS Parukia VS Dakurai (2007)

inglês A quite traditional film about Pokemon with suspenseful moments. Visually, it is interesting, and there are scenes where the creators really put effort into. Such symphonies of colors and shapes. I really liked this. The story is quite classic, but a lot of new Pokemon appear here, so why not.

The Masterchef (2014)

inglês An Indian film that relies heavily on contrast. The theme of the rich and the poor will still be relevant and I think this is a pretty good way to remind people of it. Plus, it's beautiful how even a boy who lives in really bad conditions can have dreams and can try to fulfill them. However, the film doesn't really stand out in any significant way, it's just a beautiful and at the same time very sad look at a person.

Faces of Death III (1985)

inglês John Alan Schwartz made a name for himself with these movies, and basically, it is the only thing he created. I am quite curious to see if the fourth part surprised in any way or if he is still going his own way, just to have as many scenes as possible that are not connected in any way. "Faces of Death III" is a weak film in general and weak in the entire series. Here, it's just about the exhibitionism of a man who has a specific hobby.

Snowpiercer (2013)

inglês A film definitely worth seeing. The great idea of post-apocalyptic sci-fi is developed deeper than expected, and surprisingly, it is not annoying. It works. I am sure it is the South Korean approach that worked wonders even with Western actors. In addition, the screenplay is not just an empty statement. There are scenes here that would not fit into a similar film in most cases, but here they work excellently. Chris Evans also proves that he can act.

Autópsia de Um Crime (1972)

inglês This is simply a concert of two great actors. I must say that I missed a faster pace here, which I felt in the remake of this film, where Michael Caine played the older man for a change. Laurence Olivier shows his mastery, but Caine is a great counterpart to him until the "successful" end. If you like conversational dramas, this will suit you because there is minimal action.

Seal Team Eight: Behind Enemy Lines (2014)

inglês Just because of that beautiful explosion when a person gets hit by a rocket, I can't give it the lowest rating, because it was simply well done. That it's otherwise terribly done in terms of tricks and even worse in terms of story, that's another matter. However, I can't help it, this B-movie actually entertained me quite successfully. I'm not saying that I devoted my attention to it the whole time, that would probably wash my brain away, but as a backdrop, it's fine. The explosions are quite effective in some places. That's all there is to it.

Almost Human (2013)

inglês "Almost Human" is not a film that should signify a complete revolution in cheaper production, but it is certainly not a film that underestimates the creator either. It is evident that there was a genuine effort to achieve the desired effect, to interpret a relatively classic story slightly differently, more oppressively, and to add quite interesting and gritty scenes to it. The result turned out very well in the end, and even though it may not succeed in cinemas, especially not in the Czech ones, it would be a shame to ignore this film.
