The finale of the fifth season wasn't bad. I particularly enjoyed the shot of the five partners of the company in front of the future offices. The episode did feel a bit lacking compared to the previous ones, though. I guess I was hoping for less Cinderella and lovesick infatuation, and more intense drama instead. But hey, I get it, you can't expect things to pan out every time. / Lesson learned: When someone offers you fifty thousand dollars, say thank you and take it.

As I've grown older, my perspective on movies and series I watched years ago has certainly shifted, and this film is a prime example. At one point, chasing Nazis might have seemed justified, but seeing the recent outcomes of such actions feels like kicking someone who's already unconscious. I'm not here to defend anyone, but dragging elderly folks in near-vegetative states to court, with more tubes and wires than Robocop, doesn't seem to have a point. What kind of punishment will they get? Life imprisonment? Right. The blindfolded lady with scales must be having a good laugh. Anyway, this film captured a time when such actions seemed more sensible, and I particularly enjoyed the part set in Berlin. However, the part set in the present and the ending was executed so poorly that I debated whether it deserved that third star for quite some time. / Lesson learned: While we played cops and robbers as children, kids in Israel apparently played games like Simon and the Nazis.3*-

This series is definitely one where gamers, especially online players, have a considerable advantage over other viewers. They're likely to have a lot more fun with it. Well... at least that's what I imagine. It's true that my experiences with WoW and PoE really help me find humor in Mythic Quest, even in situations that might seem a bit baffling otherwise. / Lesson learned: Hope may die last, but it's a painful death.

At first, it didn't seem like it, but in the end, the creators managed to craft one of the darkest episodes of the series. Throughout, it maintained the sophisticated blend of drama and comedy that I've come to expect from this show, but the ending took it to a whole new level of darkness. I actually really appreciated it because it showcased that even in the final season, the creators have still got it. / Lesson learned: Design is important, but it's safer to bet on reliability.

The sixth episode wasn't a standout, but I still gave it four stars because I've grown so fond of the characters that I can appreciate it even in the weaker episodes. However, what it lacked in quality, it made up for with Skynet's self-awareness, the introduction of Sasquatch to the group, and the ensuing rivalry for the alpha male position. / Lesson learned: Want to play online? Make sure those internet bills are paid.

What a surprisingly well-crafted episode. Doc and Beans (especially Beans) kept me entertained from start to finish, and they even managed to deliver a moral message that I fully resonated with. On a side note, I firmly believe that anything Disney gets their hands on is bound to be messed up and turned into an obnoxious musical. / Lesson learned: Sometimes things aren't possible without money, but having money doesn't necessarily make it better.

This film falls into the category of a typical American interstate romance. Unfortunately, the negatives seem to outweigh the positives. The main issue with the film is its overly romanticized fairy tale narrative, complete with moral messages and many dull moments. However, one positive aspect for me was its refreshing departure from the current norms, especially considering that it starts with some ass-grabbing, which wouldn't be acceptable in a movie today. Which is good because it's necessary to remove everything that stands in the way of humanity towards purely virtual sex and the three shells.

The movie had a great atmosphere, but it felt like the beautiful Icelandic scenery did most of the heavy lifting. I'm not much of a fan of tropical paradises, so that aspect worked for me. The storyline was decent, but I couldn't shake the feeling that the creators missed the mark a bit. A crime/mystery/thriller/drama? I'm not so sure. There were detectives, an investigation, and a strained father-daughter relationship, yet it lacked the tension I expected. It was like someone prepared all the ingredients for a delicious meal, followed the recipe perfectly, but then left it to burn on the stove. In other words, the film didn't really hold my attention and I found myself getting bored at times. Maybe it's not entirely the fault of the filmmakers, though, because I felt similar about the book it was based on. / Lesson learned: If you want to hide a secret, make sure to use plenty of concrete.

This time around, it didn't quite hit the heights of the previous episode (the Nazis were missing), but that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy myself. When I was playing PoE, I found myself needing to watch streamers for guidance, which led me to categorize them into two main groups and one smaller one. Both big groups had their fair share of jerks and self-centered folks, while the smaller one consisted of those who dedicated their free time to helping others in Wraeclast. I found myself laughing out loud multiple times during the thirty minutes, which is crucial for a comedy series. / Lesson learned: When your job turns into a hobby, you're either over the moon, or completely screwed.

After all those relatively uneventful episodes, two came in succession that really grabbed my attention, especially the eleventh episode which was so dramatic it was unsettling. The creators truly went all out, and the result was a storyline that had more to say than the entire first half of the season. I wish every episode of the series lived up to this standard. / Lesson learned: Be aware of your self-worth.
