She wins a spot on the local TV dance program, "The Corny Collins Show" and is transformed overnight from outsider to irrepressible teen celebrity. But can the trendsetting Tracy win the heart of teen-dream Link Larkin and stand up for what she believes in, despite the program's scheming stage manager? All she needs is her best friend Penny, a toe- tappin' beat - and a little HAIRSPRAY! (New Line Cinema)

inglês Yes, I've rediscovered Michelle Pfeiffer and I'm fully into everything she's been in, and yet her music stuff is kind of rough. On the other hand, Makin' Whoopee is great. However, this musical is really just a parody of hairspray and the monstrous creations that the whole sick generation created with its help. But for God's sake, is it necessary to spend almost two hours on this? No way. ()

inglês Hairspray is a colourful and absolutely wild musical that brought together a stellar ensemble of actors who showed me that they can combine dance, singing and in some cases acting very well. The dance choreography packed a punch and so did the songs, which were too many for me by the end. John Travolta looks very interesting in a latex suit and the main character is surprisingly not a scrawny thing after a long time. In short, an average American musical, great for an afternoon, and doesn't get boring (at least for me) after more than one viewing. ()

inglês I don't like musicals, but if one makes me tap the tunes onto the back of my seat, it’s a winner in my book. Shankman's film affected me like no other in recent years. Although the plot is reminiscent of a class simpleton, it's so well cast and acted, musically and lyrically maximally entertaining, and most importantly, brilliantly choreographed, that it took me along for the big ride. Based on reason, it deserves 4 stars, but my reason dissipated after the first musical number, so I’m giving it 5 stars based on the feeling from my heart! ()

inglês Well, new times. Or actually old times. Instead of pomade, hair gel is now used. But Travolta remains. He just turned into a fat woman. I haven't seen the original musical movie from 1988, so I can't compare yet, but if you like the 50s, this will grab you from the beginning. And if you don't like the 50s, the great songs can still captivate you. I didn't believe in this movie, but the songs simply won me over. It's an incredibly positive film and I gladly let myself be overwhelmed by these overly positive spectacles. Excellent casting. ()
