Um Longo Fim de Semana

Fim-de-Semana Alucinante australiano, em que o desafiante não são aldeões maus, mas sim fauna tropical selvagem. Dois protagonistas numa crise conjugal e uma situação que não lhes convém muito. Os animais contribuem, mas o principal inimigo são eles próprios com a sua mente instável. Um thriller atmosférico, surpreendentemente impressionante por quão pouco e em que espaço acontece. Os gritos dos animais, o desconforto do acampamento, a magia opressiva da noite escura. A realidade torna-se alucinante com o tempo, as ações são cometidas sem juízo racional. (22/12/2022)

To sympathise with the main characters of this flick is impossible. The sooner you get that fact, the better you will make sense of the developments in the second part and accept the very naturalistic ending. And even if all the dread from this horror tends to just be hinted, it’s enough to give you the chills. At the end, this movie might give you some sense of satisfaction, but it certainly won’t replenish your optimism. (19/04/2018)

Long Weekend is a film that, in Australia at least, caught the attention of so many that the film was remade in 2008. There's not much to redo, because the film is already perfect in its original form in its strange, oppressive weirdness. Environmental horror isn't for everyone, but it works very well in this version and has a great bizarre atmosphere that's worth the interest. (30/11/2017)
