Fractured

Um thriller decentemente construído em que não está de 100% certo de qual é a verdade até ao último momento. Se lhe faltar um pouco em alguma coisa, é apenas o retrato das dúvidas do personagem principal, pois ele quase desiste das suas crenças por vezes. Brad Anderson não é bem o mestre que Shyamalan já foi outrora. Mas ele ainda lida com o assunto desafiador, que depende dos detalhes e da extraordinária precisão na entrega de cada cena, com dignidade. Worthington é bom, suficientemente bom. (25/12/2021)

After The Call, Brad Anderson serves up another suspenseful thriller that won't leave you breathless! Sam Worthington goes to the hospital with his wife and daughter who was injured in a fall is sent for a CT scan. Hours pass and the daughter and wife are nowhere to be found. From this point on, solid paranoia sets in, where you won't know until the last few minutes whether the main character is a deranged lunatic or the hospital is hiding dark secrets. Very suspenseful, well acted and directed with an engaging plot and a decent denouement that, while not all that surprising, is satisfying enough. Recommended. There hasn't been a better suspense film in a long time. 80%. (12/10/2019)

Well done paranoia. Suspenseful until the very end, with good performances primarily in the supporting roles, very believable atmosphere, and although somehow from the middle you can suspect a possible alternative shocking ending, you still get there with a cleverly constructed story with suspense and without unnecessary awkward moments and crutches. Worthington, probably at the limit of his acting abilities, gives a 90% respectable performance. (17/01/2021)

Neste thriller de suspense, Sam Worthington interpreta um pai da família que leva a sua mulher e a sua filha de seis anos ferida ao hospital, depois faz uma sesta na sala de espera, para depois acordar e não encontrar a sua família em lado nenhum e nenhum dos médicos ou outro pessoal se lembra deles. O enredo é construído de forma semelhante ao filme Flightplan - Pânico a Bordo com Jodie Foster, ao mesmo tempo que deixa o público constantemente a perguntar-se se o personagem principal é um lunático confuso e alucinado, ou se o hospital faz parte de alguma conspiração farmacêutica gigantesca e todos os que nele se encontram apenas lhe mentem. O filme vacila entre as duas possibilidades, o que mantém um nível bastante estável de incerteza, ajudado por algumas reviravoltas notáveis. A única coisa que estraga o final forte é que, em retrospetiva, reconstruindo o que aconteceu no filme e quem disse o quê, depara-se com muitas falhas e lapsos de argumento, o filme teve de ser deliberadamente vago e ambíguo para ser suficientemente dramático para não revelar a verdade demasiado cedo. Alguns podem achar o resultado demasiado elaborado e tolo, mas o espetáculo é atraente e envolvente, e a direção e atuação são sólidas. (04/10/2019)

Even though you have a bit of an idea from the beginning what the outcome of the story is going to be, the film still managed to blur the line between real and alternative reality until the very end. Is it a conspiracy around illegal organ sales or the complete derangement of the mind of a recovering alcoholic? You are not quite sure what actually happened at the gas station and in the hospital until the closing credits. The script manipulates the viewer's mind, alternately presenting evidence of one or another reality. The omnipresent and exceedingly disturbing atmosphere was added to by Sam Worthington's convincing performance and the unpleasant sounding music, which perfectly complemented the hospital setting.
